Provide training on EU market access requirements for the tropical timber sector in Peru

18 January 2015

The Dutch Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH) – European Sustainable Tropical Timber Coalition and Centre for the Promotion of Import from developing countries (CBI) and the German Import Promotion Desk (IPD) and GIZ and have joined forces to support the tropical timber sector in Peru. CBI, part of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has commissioned Probos to conduct a training on EU market access requirements for the Tropical Timber sector in Peru (e.g. EUTR, CITES, REACH, ISPM 15, FSC, PEFC, etc.).

The sustainable use of Peruvian resources can help conserve biodiversity and counteract the effects of climate change, which makes an important contribution to the conservation of environmental resources worldwide and to rural development in Peru. Selected Peruvian companies with export potential have been audited and selected and are keen to receive training and coaching to be able to export their wood products. Probos has conducted this training (in Spanish) in Pucallpa (Peru).
